Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and All Spark Enterprises Ltd. (Devlin, Ontario), which operates Weekend Sales Finder. By creating an account or posting a sale you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. You must be 18 or older.
What we do (and don't)
Weekend Sales Finder is a map of local yard, garage, estate and business sales with a route planner. We are not a party to any sale: we don't own, inspect, price or guarantee items, and we don't take payment for them. Buyers and sellers deal with each other directly. Visit sales with ordinary care — sellers are responsible for their property, their items and their guests' safety.
Accounts
- You choose a personal account (household sales), a community-group account (non-profit events) or a business account (business sales) when you sign up. The type can't be changed; to switch, create a new account or delete yours and start again.
- A business sale is one where the goods are stock, inventory or items bought for resale by a business. Moving, downsizing, estate and family sales of personal belongings are household sales.
- Keep your email and phone accurate and your sign-in codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Prices, payment and renewal
- Founding Season: when a town opens on Weekend Sales Finder, household sales and street/community sales there post free for 90 days of yard-sale season (days outside the season — like winter — are free too and don't count). Each town's end date is shown when you post. Business sales and Last Call are never part of it.
- Household listing: $4.99 USD per sale weekend. The first few listings each weekend in each town are free to eligible verified accounts (five in most towns, two in small towns; the number is shown when you post) (one free listing per account and per address every 30 days).
- Business, per sale: $19.99 USD per sale or event.
- Markets & events (flea markets, craft fairs, swap meets, farmers' and pop-up markets, auctions) are always a paid listing, including during a Founding Season: the business price above, or $4.99 USD for an approved non-profit.
- Featured town-wide sales: an approved town-wide sale's organizer can have it shown, labelled Featured, to same-country towns within about 2 hours: in their “Coming up” list up to 3 weeks before and in their Friday email the week of the sale. Each town shows at most 2 featured sales. The price depends on how many people it reaches (Friday-list subscribers plus accounts in those towns), shown before you choose: free up to 499 people, then $9.99, $24.99, or at most $49.99 USD. We only offer it when at least one town is in reach; a paid boost isn't refunded once shown.
- Drafts: every sale is saved as a draft first, so you see it and its price before you pay or post. Nothing is charged for a draft. Household sales are free during a town's Founding Season, up to 2 per account and per address in any 30 days; more than that are the regular price. Unfinished and unposted sales are saved to your account, then deleted after 14 days without changes, or once the sale date has passed. We email you on a Friday before that happens.
- Business, monthly: $39.99 USD per month for up to 2 sales or events, or $49.99 USD per month for up to 4. Unused listings don't carry over; more listings in a month are $19.99 each. Your plan renews automatically every month and your card is charged your plan's price ($39.99 or $49.99 USD) on the renewal date until you cancel. You agree to this with a checkbox before you subscribe. Cancel online anytime on your Business page with one click — no phone call or email needed. Canceling stops the next charge; you keep access until the end of the month you've paid for. Part months aren't refunded. If the price ever changes we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before then.
- Prices are in US dollars. We don't currently add sales tax; if that changes it will be shown at checkout before you pay. Payments are collected by All Spark Enterprises Ltd. and processed by Stripe. Email us anytime for a receipt.
- Cancelling and refunds: if you take a paid sale down before it appears on the map, what you paid (before tax) becomes account credit for a future sale, and any credit you used on it comes back. The tax on it was already paid, so a sale paid with that credit isn't taxed again. Once a sale has been on the map, the fee isn't returned. If we remove a sale through our own error, or it doesn't appear because of a problem on our side, you get a full refund to your card instead. Monthly plans are not refunded for part months; a plan listing taken down before it appears doesn't count toward your month. Contact us about anything else — we're reasonable.
Non-profits
- Churches, registered charities, schools, libraries and non-profit clubs can open a non-profit account to post their events — rummage sales, bazaars, fundraisers, book sales and non-profit craft fairs — free, up to 2 events in any 30 days and 12 a year.
- We verify each one before its first sale goes on the map: churches and charities by their IRS Employer Identification Number (EIN), checked against the IRS list of tax-exempt organizations, others by their official website or email. An EIN can be used by one account.
- Giving false details, or posting for-profit or household sales as a non-profit, is handled like a business sale on a personal account: the sale can be removed and the account put on hold.
Street and community sales
- An organizer can pay once for a street sale (5+ homes on the named streets, $4.24 USD a home) or a community sale (15+ homes within about 1 mile, $3.74 USD a home). These spots don't use the weekly free slots.
- The organizer must only add homes whose households agreed to take part, with an email address that household uses. We email each household once, naming the organizer. A home appears on the map only after its household signs in with that email and adds its listing.
- An organizer can first invite the street (or town) and see who's in before booking and paying for those homes. When someone says they're in, we share each side's name and email with the other.
- Money between neighbours isn't ours. If households pay the organizer for their spot, that's between them — Weekend Sales Finder and All Spark Enterprises Ltd. aren't part of it and aren't responsible for it. Only hand money to someone you trust.
- Collecting each household's share is between the organizer and the households. No refunds for homes that don't take part; until the sale the organizer can pass an unclaimed spot to another home.
- Businesses can join a street or community sale by posting their own business sale at the business rate.
Last Call
- After a household sale, the seller can list unsold items on the Last Call board: $3.50 USD per sale when bought as part of posting or paying for the sale (before the sale starts), $4.99 USD once the sale is already posted, for up to 40 items. It opens when the sale starts and everything on the board — items, photos and messages — is deleted every Friday at midnight (local time). No refunds once items can be posted.
- Items are picked up at the sale's address and paid for in person at pickup. No shipping, no deposits, no payment in advance. We don't handle the money for items and aren't part of the sale.
- Messages are only for arranging a Last Call item. Links aren't allowed. Don't ask for money, codes or personal details. If you arrange a pickup, show up or tell the other person you can't.
- Booked pickups: either person can propose a pickup time; once the other confirms, the item is held (shown as pending). Cancel before the time if plans change — that's never held against you. After the time, each person says what happened; that answer is also their rating. A shopper can tap “I'm here” on arrival, which records how far their phone was from the address. “No one answered” can only be reported after checking in at the address. Location is evidence, not proof: when stories differ, a person on our team decides.
- Ratings: after a pickup you can rate the other person — went smoothly, no-show (only for a booked time), or problem. Rate only what really happened. Totals count each person once. 3 no-shows within 60 days blocks starting new Last Call conversations or adding items for 14 days. You can dispute a rating once; a person on our team decides. Ratings stay linked to your verified phone for 180 days after you delete your account.
- Either person can report a conversation; a copy then goes to our team. We may remove items and suspend accounts that misuse Last Call.
Share leaderboard
Sharing links earns leaderboard points and badges under the leaderboard rules, and referral credit as described below. Fake, duplicate or paid accounts to earn points lead to points being removed and may lead to suspension. When you share your invite link to recommend Weekend Sales Finder, say that you earn credit or points for sign-ups (the invite text we give you already does). Don't post fake reviews or pretend to have no connection to us.
Account credit
- You get account credit when you take a paid sale down before it appears on the map (see Cancelling and refunds). It comes off your next sale automatically at checkout — household sales, business sales and non-profit events — and is used before referral credit.
- Account credit has no cash value, can't be transferred, isn't used for monthly plans, and ends if your account is deleted.
Referral credit
- When someone who joined through your share link pays for a household listing, you get $0.25 credit, once per listing they pay for.
- Credit is taken off your own household listings automatically at checkout. If it covers the whole price, the listing is free. Otherwise at least $0.50 is charged (the card processor's minimum).
- Credit has no cash value. It can't be withdrawn, transferred or used for business plans, and it ends if your account is deleted. Listings paid for entirely with credit don't earn credit for anyone. We may reverse credit that came from a refunded payment, fake accounts or other abuse.
Rating sales
- Shoppers can rate a sale they went to: the stuff, the prices, and whether it matched the listing. Scanning the sale's QR sign and checking in at the sale lets you rate right away. Otherwise your account must be at least 7 days old.
- One rating per person per sale, and a seller's score counts each shopper once. Rate honestly. Rating your own sale, or getting others to rate it, is a breach of these terms.
- Anyone signed in can report a comment. We may hide comments that are abusive, false or off-topic, but not simply because a seller doesn't like them.
Your listings and content
- Your sale address, times, description, item list and photos are public. Only post an address where you have the right to hold the sale.
- Listings must be accurate. Business discounts (“% off”) must be taken off your genuine regular selling prices; asking prices must not be presented as discounts.
- Don't sell: anything that has been recalled (check CPSC recalls — selling a recalled product is against federal law, even at a yard sale); drop-side cribs or any crib that doesn't meet current federal standards; inclined infant sleepers and padded crib bumpers (banned by the Safe Sleep for Babies Act); car seats that are expired, recalled, missing parts or labels, or were in a crash (check NHTSA recalls); weapons or ammunition; alcohol, cannabis, tobacco or vaping products; prescription drugs; live animals; counterfeit or stolen goods; or anything else illegal to sell in your state.
- Don't photograph people's faces or license plates in photos you upload. Only post photos, videos and text you took, wrote or have permission to use.
- You keep ownership of what you post and give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to display it on Weekend Sales Finder and on signs and posters you create. If you send a testimonial and tick the box, you also let us show it in our own posts and ads about Weekend Sales Finder until you ask us to stop.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Weekend Sales Finder infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA): Copyright Agent, All Spark Enterprises Ltd. · support@weekendsalesfinder.com (subject line “Copyright notice”).
Your notice must include: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) the work you say is infringed; (3) the link to the material you want removed; (4) your name, address, phone number and email; (5) a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
We will remove or disable the material and tell the person who posted it. If you posted it and believe it was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with: your signature; the material removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the U.S., any judicial district where we may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the notice. We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after a valid counter-notice unless the complaining party tells us they've filed a lawsuit.
Repeat infringers: we close the accounts of people who repeatedly post infringing material. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices can make you liable for damages.
Business sales on personal accounts
Running a business sale from a personal account avoids the business price and is not allowed. If a report is confirmed by a member of our team (an AI may help gather evidence but never decides), we may remove the sale, put the account on hold and block household sales at that address until you either:
- pay the outstanding difference — the business per-sale price less what you already paid for that listing (normally $10.00), after which the sale is restored as a business sale; or
- appeal with an explanation and photos showing the items were your own belongings. If we accept, everything is unlocked with nothing to pay.
We may permanently suspend accounts for repeated or serious breaches of these terms, fraud, abuse of other users, or illegal activity.
Help forum
The forum is for helping each other. No profanity, insults, harassment, hateful content, advertising, scams, or other people's phone numbers, emails or addresses. Posts are checked before they appear and may be refused, held for review, hidden after reports or removed.
Reports and reviews
Reports must be honest. Knowingly false or malicious reports are a breach of these terms.
No warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don't promise that listings, maps or routes are accurate, that any sale will happen, or that any item is safe, legal, as described or fit for any purpose. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for anything that happens between buyers and sellers, at a sale or at a pickup. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. These limits don't apply to liability for our fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, or to anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing in these terms limits rights you have under your state's consumer-protection law that can't be waived.
Disputes between users
Sales, pickups and payments for items are between buyers and sellers. If you have a dispute with another user, you agree to try to settle it with them directly. We may help (for example, by reviewing a report), but we're not responsible for the outcome.
If you have a problem with us
Please email support@weekendsalesfinder.com first and give us 30 days to try to fix it — most things can be sorted out quickly. If we can't, you may bring a claim in the small-claims court for the county where you live, or in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
Ending your account
You can delete your account anytime from your account page. We may suspend access for breaches as described above.
Changes and law
If we change these terms in a way that matters we'll post the new version and email account holders before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, except where the consumer-protection law of your state says otherwise.
